The purpose of this study was to explorethe role of the nursery schoolenvironment inproviding children with some visual perception skills. The participants consisted of 30 nursery schools in Sixth of October City affiliated to the Ministry of Social Affairs.
The problem of the study was limited to the following: identifying the role of the caregiver in providing children with some visual perception skills, and identifying the role of the classroom resources and equipments in providing children with some visual perception skills.
The study followed the analytical descriptive approach. To answer the study questions, the researcher developed a questionnaire for educators about their implementation of the activities which help children acquire some visual perception skills, a checklist of nursery classroom environment including the availability of resources and equipments to provide children with some visual skills.
The results of the study showed that nursery caregivers slightly implement activities which provide children with visual perception skills.
This study focuses on the role and importance of the nursery environment in providing activities, tools, and resources that help the nursery child acquire visual skills and encouraging children on visual discrimin-ation of things around them by providing several visual prompts using different resources and equipments available in the nursery.
